Okay, so I have decide to challenge myself with TWO read-a-thons that happen at the same time! Now, I’ve decided to do this because they sound like a lot of fun to take part in and to read some books that I’ve been dying to read, but haven’t gotten to yet. Did I just describe why read-a-thons against? Oh well, haha. If these sound fun to you too, I would love to hear if you want to join the fun with me!
Hosted by Canadian Booktuber Books and Lala, the Read-EH-thon is happening July 1st (which is Canada Day) until July 8th. Here are the challenges:
- Read a book with red on the cover
- Read a book by a Canadian woman
- Read a book with “E” and “H” in the title
- Read a book by an indigenous author
- Read a book set in a province you’ve never visited
Because I’m doing two read-a-thons at once, with just one book I’m going to hit most of the challenges but not all.
The book I chose is: Aftermath by Kelley Armstrong
The challenges that this one books meets is red on the cover, woman author, and have “E” and “H” in the title.

Second, and more scary read-a-thon
The Tomme Topple readathon is back, and hosted by Sam or Thoughts on Tomes. This read-a-thon happens June 29th until July 12th. That gives everyone two weeks to finish at least one book. The goal of this read-a-thon is to read books that are over 500 pages. Here are the challenges:
- Read more than 1 tome
- Read a graphic novel
- Read a tome that is part of a series
- Buddy read a tome
- Read an adult novel
Sam will be hosting Instagram challenges as well closer to the read-a-thon dates.
The book I chose is: Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi
My choice only meets one challenge of read a book that’s part of a series but I’m okay with that. This read-a-thon is really just the push I need to read such a large book that I know will take commitment to finish.

If you would like to read either book with me I would love to do a buddy read with you! Just let me know!
