Blue Lily, Lily Blue by Maggie Stiefvater: Book Review

Hey yo, friends! I’m back to posting! My apologies for my unexpected absence; life, you know? I’ve got a good line of blog posts stocked up for you! First, today being review day for Blue Lily, Lily Blue, then my disappointing reads of 2018, and also something about disability. Since I’m pretty behind on reviews I’m also stocking up on those. Anyway, on to the review!!

I read Blue Lily, Lily Blue mid December as a buddy read with a few people on Instagram and it was such a blast. I loved sharing opinions and discussing theories. BLLB is the third book to The Raven Cycle series. So I can’t say much about the plot of this one but I highly recommend to check it out (Goodreads to book one).

My Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

Maggie Stiefvater is an amazing writer and I can’t wait to reread the whole series again soon. She writes where a lot is open to reader to fill in, but with so much detail at the same time. I didn’t think BLLB was as strong as The Dream Thieves was with plot  and my investment in the events, but 100% still a 5 star read. I was so love in The Dream Thieves and as amazing this book was book 2 is still my favourite.

Two new villains were introduced in this one and I loved and hated them. Let’s just say I didn’t always agree, if ever with their choices, but man, they were fascinating. Henry Chang was an interesting character, but felt a little forced into the story. I couldn’t believe he had good intensions because he felt like an odd one out in this established group of people that I’ve growth attached to. But I was wary of the Gray Man and he grew on me, although he was introduced earlier in the story. Ronan on the other hand, has growth to become my favourite character; I love seeing more of him and the Barns.

Well, I think that’s all I got without getting into spoilers!

As always, thanks for reading!
