Born A Crime by Trevor Noah: Book Review

Hello and happy Tuesday! Today’s review was read by audiobook during February. I don’t often read memoirs and biographies, but in the last few years I’ve really enjoyed Trevor Noah on The Daily Show so I wanted to learn more about his life. Also, I thought he has a very different life than me and a different childhood, which peaked my interest too.

My lame synopsis: Trevor Noah telling his life story (Goodreads).

My Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars

I find it hard to review people’s life’s stories when I do read them. I will say overall I really enjoyed the audiobook. Trevor has a very interesting life, however, there were a few cheesy parts. It might have been Trevor’s delivery of certain sentences, I’m not sure. There were a few times I wanted to laugh at how something was said and not the content of the sentence.

I didn’t get much in the way of education around Africa unfortunately in grade school, however, after finishing this I’m inspired to learn more. Especially in way of history that goes beyond people being taken from their homes and put into slavery.

As always, thanks for reading!
