The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken: Book Review

Good hello, friends! I’ve been reading so many big books, but somehow I’m ahead of my reading goal..? I can’t wait for the halfway point of the year when Goodreads sends out your progress so far. I love seeing the statistics! Anyway, let’s just jump into it!

My Lame Synopsis: Some kids die of some mysterious illness and the remaining kids get taken to a prison-like camp. There’s something about powers (Goodreads).

My Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

I absolutely loved the powers that people had, thought they were interesting. I believe the story was well thought out, though, the language was a little basic. Maybe it’s because it’s Young Adult..? I enjoyed the themes of PTSD, really health in general, breaking gender roles, and wrong vs right. I did sort of predicted the ending a bit..

I’m a sucker for romances and I really loved the one in this one. Also, enjoyed the the genuine friendships. You just had to root for the main characters.

I can’t wait for the next book to see what happens and see everyone grow.

As always, thanks for reading!
