Why I Read

What’s better than a good book? For me, not a lot is better. For those that don’t know, I live with chronic pain.

I first hated reading, I had such a hard time learning to read when I was little and hated it until high school. I read, unfortunately, Twilight and fell in love. I have since realized it’s not the best book or series.

During the years I was in post-secondary school I gave up reading outside of my required readings to help my focus on school. In 2016 after graduating a year before, I set a goal of reading 52 books for the year wanting to get back into reading. In 2017, I developed my chronic pain which changed my view on reading.

I read because it’s lovely way to escape from my physical body and focus on lives that are different than my own. Also, being able to enjoy adventures without having to leave my home. I have a passion for stories, for beautiful book covers, and for flawed characters.

My love of books led to my love of blogging, bookstagram, and talking about books whenever I can.

Why do you love reading?

As always, thanks for reading!
