The Queen of Attolia by Megan Whalen Turner: Book Review

Good hello, friends! Happy Thursday! It’s crazy to me how I’ve been able to keep to my weekly and daily goals especially for instagram, my blog, and the online learning I’m doing! I’m so proud of myself for keeping it up and hopefully it only continues! Now on to my first May review for The Queen of Attolia!

My Lame Synopsis: It’s a sequel, chums! I highly recommend reading book 1! Goodreads

My Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars

This is definitely a series where just finishing a book I’m very meh about it and I need time to really think on it to love it. Turner just has this ability to write characters, foreshadowing, themes, and events beautifully. She spends so much of the page on character and the relationship between characters. I did wish for Queen of Attolia it had more action throughout because it mainly took place during wartimes. I would have liked a battle scene, but majority of the battles were ‘off screen’. Although, the book did pick up in action for the last bit.

I loved how the characters revealed their plans; it created confusion that made the reveal more satisfying. Gen is the best for this especially. Love him!

As always, thanks for reading!
