Good hello, friends! Happy Monday! I can’t get over that it’s already June 10th. I’m starting feel like I’m behind in my reading again when I’m killing it with my Goodreads yearly goal. I’m reading Red, White & Royal Blue which I’m so loving, and to think when I first heard of it I thought I wouldn’t like it! Anyways! Let’s see what’s on the chopping block today!
Down The TBR Hole was originally created by Lost In A Story and the lovely logo!
Anyway, it works like this:
- Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
- Order on ascending date added.
- Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books
- Read the synopses of the books
- Decide: keep it or should it go?
Let’s Just Jump Into It!
1. Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
This woman is such an inspiration! I first saw her TED Talk and I was blown away by her speech. I have read a couple of her nonfiction feminist books, but nothing else. I have this book somewhere in storage, I really should get it out and finally read it! Goodreads
2. Bel Canto by Ann Patchett
After taking a moment to read the synopsis, I think this would a refreshing break from the literature I usually read. Goodreads
3. The Bookshop Book by Jen Campbell
The funny thing about this book, I never knew what it was about until now and not for the regular reasons too. I started following Jen Campbell on YouTube a few years ago and added The Bookshop Book because I wanted to support her. However, this now sounds like something I wouldn’t read. Goodreads
4. Steal Like an Artist by Austin Kleon
I’m going to say not now. As much as I would love to improve my art skills I’m going to focus my energy on online courses for website coding and other related content. Goodreads
Judgement: Maybe Keep
5. Doctor Zhivago by Boris Pasternak
I added this back when I was looking for quotes I wanted tattooed and I liked a quote from this book. But I didn’t go through with it because I thought I should at least read the book first before putting it to skin. It does sound like a cool Russian classic though. Goodreads
As always, thanks for reading!
