King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo: Book Review

Good hello, friends! Happy Tuesday! I have been having such a fun time reading all of the queer books this month! I just started rereading The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and man, I forgot just how much I love the sh** out of that book. I can see myself reading it over and over for the rest of my life. Now, onto the review! I was so excited for this because Nikolai was my favourite character in the Grisha trilogy.

My Lame Synopsis: Because this is set after the Grisha Trilogy, just read that first, then the Six of Crows duology, then read this, haha! Goodreads

My Rating: 3.75 out of 5 stars

Overall, I enjoyed the book. I did feel there were some weak points, the biggest one was Nikolai’s storyline. Since he was the selling feature of the book for me, I felt that Leigh Bardugo could have taken his character further. He could have had more growth by the end.

However, Bardugo did amazingly with Zoya and Nina. Their character growth, story arch. and female determination were masterly crafted. I think I have to say Nina was my favourite. I respect what she had gone through and how it has affected her in every aspect of her life. Through Nina, we got the best twist and turns, at least in my humble opinion.

As always, thanks for reading!
