JuneWrap Up 2019!!

Good hello, friends! Welcome back to my blog! Today, I have my wrap up for June! I managed to finish 10 books, over half of them queer for Pride month! Yay! How was June for your reading month? Let’ me know below!

Let’s Just Jump Into It!

The Obstacle of The Way by Ryan Holiday

I’m glad I read this. The Obstacle of The Way was recommended to me by a friend of mine who knows this year hasn’t been easy for me. I appreciate the message; pretty motivational. Goodreads

Radio Silence by Alice Oseman

What a beautiful story about friendship, sexuality, mental health, and coming of age. I loved the different, unique journeys the characters took. There was some wonderful character growth. Goodreads

Lost Highlander Cassidy Cayman

So I decided to listen to the audiobook of Lost Highlander because I heard last minute the smut-a-thon was going on and wanted to casually participate. I, unfortunately, didn’t have any queer smut on hand, but I had fun reading this! I got this a while ago since I was looking for something similar to Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. The Lost Highlander didn’t disappoint in that regard! It was just a fun read. Goodreads

3.5 Stars

Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling

I was listening to The Chamber of Secrets just off and on, I have to admit it’s because of the narrator not pronouncing Vordemort properly. I got around to finishing it in June so I could move on to a different audiobook. Goodreads

A Fantasy Writer’s Handbook by Richie Billing

I was so kindly sent this for an honest review. I didn’t think I could have fun reading a book on writing, but I did reading this! I actually already have my review up! A Fantasy Writers’ Handbook by Richie Billing: Book Review

5 Stars

Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston

When I first heard of this, I thought I wasn’t going to like it. But the hype got to me and I decided to picked it up! I’m so glad I was wrong! So cute, and sometimes laugh out loud funny. Goodreads

Prince Charming by Rachel Hawkins

I wanted to picked this up because I really wanted to read the next book in the series, Her Royal Highness. I did think Prince Charming was adorable! Goodreads

4 Stars

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid

Thank whoever you believe in for this book! I love The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo so much! Are you done hearing me praise this book? Oops! #sorrynotsorry Goodreads

Let’s Talk About Love by Claire Kahn

Oh boy, I loved the rep in Let’s Talk About Love. I actually talk more about that in Fibro Friday: Intersectionality 06/21/19. I think I learned a lot about someone else’s experience and I appreciate that. Goodreads

3.5 Stars

Her Royal Highness by Rachel Hawkins

I definitely enjoyed Her Royal Highness more than Prince Charming. I’m a little biased because of the queer rep, but it was overall a better story. I just had so much fun reading this! Very cute and fluffy. Next time I’m upset, I’m picking this up to cheer me up. Goodreads

As always, thanks for reading!
